My 15 Minutes of Fame, I Mean Wifi

Flying through Chicago Midway Airport yesterday I made a pleasant discovery.  Boingo, the popular wireless hotspot provider, offers a free 15 minute session of Wifi internet for watching a 15 second advertisement.  What a deal considering they normally charge like $7 for a day pass, which I would never pay for.  After the end of 15 minutes you can re-up for another session by watching another ad.  Apparently the offer only extends to Apple handhelds (iPod Touch & iPhone) only, no laptops or other mobile devices are currently supported.  It certainly helped me kill time during my short layover.

More Info

**Update, I now include DTW (Detroit) and BNA (Nashville) to my list of other aiports that offer the same service.  I’ve also learned that you are limited to 4 consecutive logon sessions of access, so it’s not exactly unlimited 24 hour access.  After your fourth one times out you’re told to throw down some money for a pay account.
